Our Favorite College Girl!

Audra is the middle child of Jesse and Michelle. She is currently attending Northwestern Oklahoma State University where she is majoring in Agricultural Business. She follows in the footsteps of her Great-Grandmother, Avis Marcum, Grandmother, Dana Chapman, her mother and father, and her Aunt Katie and Uncle Dominic, all who attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University. We are a proud Ranger family for sure!  Audra graduated from Alva High School last year. In high school she was a strong member of FFA, showing pigs. During her junior year she earned her way to the Oklahoma Youth Expo, the largest 4H and FFA livestock show in the nation. There she showed her Hampshire pig and won 5th out of 800 Hampshires and made the premium sale! The premium sales takes the top 2% of 10,000 selling livestock at the show. She also earned her State FFA Degree honors the seniors who have participated in multiple areas of FFA during high school. She also played 1st and 3rd base for the softball team making many friends and memories with her little sister Aimee.  Audra's favorite ranch meal is Cowboy Stew. This stew/casserole dish is so yummy and supper easy to make. When Audra was little her Nana, Jesse's mom, used to make it. She has memories of going to the Gage Artesian Beach (Oklahoma's largest outdoor swimming pool) with her cousins during the summer, then going back to Nana's and eating Cowboy Stew. This hearty beef, bean, and potato stew was exactly what the kids needed after a long day of swimming. Now that Audra is a college student and living on her own, she can make this simple meal and get a taste of home! Check out the recipe! You won't be disappointed!

Peyton's Ground Beef Tacos

Meet PeytonWho doesn't love a taco? They are easy to prepare and a taco assembly line makes it easy for everyone to choose their favorite toppings. A family meal winner for sure. The older of Katie's two daughters, Peyton, is a big fan of the ranch. Ever since she was a little girl she has loved horses. She would get so excited to visit Uncle Jesse and Aunt Michelle's house and spent her time on horseback getting led around the farm yard by her older cousins.  Her first 8 years of her life were spent in California and trips to the ranch were not as frequent. Now, being 300 miles away in McKinney has made a big difference in the amount of time Peyton can spend at the ranch. Now she can go up and stay for a few days or even a week and help out with ranch chores. She loves to play with all the dogs and cats that seem to always have a little of pups or kittens, go for rides on the ATV to bring the sheep in, and ride horses in the pasture. She is becoming more and more independent with her riding and wants to take the reins herself. Jesse has a couple of older horses that are great for kids and she can ride them comfortably. One of her other favorite things to do is go check cows with Papa Dean, Jesse and Katie's dad. He tells really interesting stories about growing up in the 40's and learning to farm, and the kids always get a kick out of it. Papa Dean Podcast coming soon!Peyton has always helped out in the kitchen but this year she has started making recipes and even full dinners on her own. Recently she has made one family meal each week. She has made pasta with meat sauce, broccoli and cheese casserole, and of course tacos. She is becoming a good little cook! Check out the recipe for her favorite tacos. FYI, Peyton likes spice so consider this your warning!

Caleb's Grilled Ribeye Steaks

Steaks are a family staple on the ranch. We like them grilled, sizzling in a cast iron, chopped up for fajitas, and in a hearty beef stew. But, no one is a bigger steak fan then Caleb!

Katie's Tri Tip

The Tri-tip is not easily found on the grocery shelves East of the Golden State, but we here at 1902 Legacy Meats think everyone needs to try this cut! It cooks up in about 30 minutes and can feed a crowd. Think pork loin, but with a yummy beef flavor!

Savannah's Hamburgers

Our youngest girl loves a hamburger! We wanted to make throwing a burger on the grill for her simple so we took our dry-aged ground beef and made it into patties! She's a fan!
