The meat industry is forecasting a decrease in the supply of beef nationwide.

This is a headline we have been watching for a while, and we are starting to notice it on our ranch as well.

If you don't want to eat less beef this year, then filling your freezer with a 1902 Legacy Meats cow share now is crucial!

There are several reasons behind the shortage. Meat processing plants closing due to outbreaks of COVID caused production to slow down, leading to supply chain issues.

Ranchers took advantage of high pandemic prices to stay open during tough times and sold off many of their cows earlier than they intended. Leaving a smaller cow herd for future calves nationwide.

In our own area, drought has been a problem. Though we are having a very wet summer, that was not the case in the Spring, and we, along with many other ranchers, had to sell cattle because there was not enough grass to feed the cattle.

These factors combine to create a beef shortage. In the fall, you can expect to see retail beef prices go up drastically.

Now more than ever, buying a 1902 Cow Share is a great idea! It will ensure you are locking in a great bulk rate current price, and you can be sure to have beef available to your family throughout this shortage.

We set aside a specific number of 1902 Legacy Meats cattle for our customers and there is still time for you to fill your freezer and have food security this year.

We take a lot of pride in providing you with premium beef! Let us stock your freezer!
